Solid pop business and history fare. It's a compelling story about an overlooked era of American history, filled with enough salty detail and violence to keep things lively. That said, there's something about Cohen's tone that bothers me. He often writes with a self-satisfied wink that, to me, reflects the worst of early 2000s prose.
